The Turri Vecchia: a traditional farmhouse. A lot of people today offer a country house to their customers, however sometimes they will find that the accomodation offered is a commercial restaurant in the countryside with just some rooms in a farmhouse style. We do not have a restaurant (but with us you can taste the proper food of the Sila region cucina silana) We have, for the pleasure of our guests nearly 130 acres of forest bosco. Just for the simple reason that we are in the mountains we grow...Trees...along with potatoes and some exquisite organic apples, so here you are surrounded by forest.  In addition to the natural forest we have planted cherry trees, trees bearing nuts, pine trees, fir trees; we are one of the few if not the only place in Italy where the Araucarie imbricate, the original trees of the Andes, can be seen as we grow them too.

Near the chalets you can see the farm animals as well as deer caprioli . There is a small lake full of trout. Trote.

The two chalets are richly furnished, finished in wood, they are fresh during the hot summer and warm in the cold winter. You will have your kitchen diner for your use.

The minimum stay  is 4 days in low season and 7 days in August, Easter and Christmas which you will need to enjoy the beautiful region of the Sila. We are a proper farmhouse and so you will not find a B&B..... From the chalets there are small paths which are ideal to walk or ride  on a mountain bike (you can rent them from us). For those who like other sports, approxiamately 20 Km away, there are  skiing resorts, lakes where it is possible to windsurf, riding stables and tennis courts.

For those who love nature there is a chance to collect the famous wild mushrooms of the Sila (porcini, rositi, manuzze, mazze di tamburo) Those who like the delicate tastes during the spring can have any kind of forest fruit.

If you like being in contact with nature you can organize a lot of unforgettable trips. The turri Vecchia is in the middle of the Sila region. Within 30 minutes driving (20 km) you can easily reach  Arvo e Lorica lakes characteristic for typical local shops, the skiing resorts, tennis courts, the so called “Pick of the mountains walk” and on the other side the Ampollino lake and The Palumbo Billage again with a lot of traditional shops, a disco, restaurants and a wharf to book your boat trip. Nearly 25 Km away there is The Mancuso Village with the exclusive Fairies hotel, and traditional shops but especially the ancient forest. If you drive a further 2 km you can visit the park of the rangers where live the eagle owls and all the other typical animals of the Sila and you will enjoy beautiful organized walking trips.

On the other hand for lovers of museums, churches and archeological ruins , on 40 km away we suggest to visit  San Giovanni in Fiore , Santa Severina o Cosenza e Crotone.

For the skiing lovers or for those who want a complete tour of the Sila on 45 Km through a natural Park there is the Cecita lake (the largest of the Sila region) or you can go on until Longobucco , famous for craft textile weaving.
